OUR STORY
HOW WE MET
We met the modern way .. through a mobile game. It was called "Tiger" Neither of us expected much more than a quick match and maybe a few laughs, but we ended up talking for hours… then days… then years. Somewhere between sarcastic banter, strategy chats, and terrible connection issues, something real started to grow.
We were living in different countries, but that didn’t stop us. One visit turned into many, and before we knew it, we weren’t just playing a game , we were building a life. Now here we are, getting married (still a bit competitive, but definitely on the same team).
THE FIRST DATE
Before we ever met in person, we had already spent countless hours on video calls , laughing, talking about everything and nothing, and pretending those were “not real dates” (they totally were).
But the official first date? That happened when I flew to Montreal. After all the time apart, seeing each other face to face for the first time felt surreal ,like meeting someone you already knew. We were both nervous, excited, and pretending we weren’t low-key freaking out inside.
We went to Dunn’s for our first outing .. nothing over-the-top, just comfort food and conversation that flowed like it always had. It wasn’t fancy, but it was us. And in that little booth, between bites and shy smiles, it became clear: this was something real.
Long-distance got nothing on us.
THE PROPOSAL
In May 2024, mark and I took a trip to the Dominican Republic and stayed at an adults-only, all-inclusive resort called Excellence El Carmen. From the moment we arrived, something seemed a little… off. He immediately went to the concierge, booked a dinner on the beach, and arranged for a photographer. Now, don’t get me wrong, he’s romantic—but he’s also a total saver. So for him to go all out like this? Suspicious. But I convinced myself that maybe he was just making the most of the all-inclusive perks.
He told me he booked a photographer because we didn’t have any professional photos on the beach, which made sense. I went with it. Then, a couple of days into our trip, the day of the photoshoot arrived. While getting ready, I asked him what I should wear, and he casually said, “Nothing too fancy.” So I picked something simple. A little while later, though, he changed his tune—“Actually, dress up.” That was weird, but I still didn’t think too much of it. I put on a dress, asked if it was okay, and he said, “Yeah, that’s perfect.”
Not to mention he picks up his air-pods and wants to bring them "i'm like whats that for ?" he says "for the gym after dinner ..lmao.
(in reality it was ofc a trick to put the ring box in his pocket instead"
We started our photoshoot around the resort, taking pictures in different spots before eventually making our way to the beach. Then came another strange moment—he insisted we bring a tripod. I remember thinking, Why do we need a tripod? We have our phones and my selfie stick. But he was adamant, so we brought it.
At the end of the photoshoot, the photographer asked me to face the ocean for one last shot. I turned my back, and then suddenly, I heard Mark’s voice: “Jordan Noelle...”
I spun around, and there he was—down on one knee, ring in hand. I spun around so quick the photographer didnt even catch my first facial expression lol
It all made sense in that moment—the booked photographer, the beach dinner, the sudden insistence on dressing up, even the random tripod. He had planned it all so perfectly, and despite all the clues, I still didn’t see it coming. I started crying &
Of course, I said yes!
Maid of Honor
Anna Katarina
Anna and I met in the most modern way possible—through a Facebook group for women in Montreal. From the moment we started messaging, it was like finding the missing half of my brain (or, as we like to say, the one brain cell we share). We think alike, laugh at the same ridiculous things, and somehow always know what the other is about to say. Our friendship is effortless, filled with endless conversations, spontaneous adventures, and an unspoken understanding that we just get each other. I love her deeply, and I couldn’t imagine this special day without her by my side.
Bridesmaid
Brittney
Brittney and I first met through my hairstyling chair, but it didn’t take long for our client-stylist relationship to turn into a genuine friendship. Over the years, we’ve shared countless conversations—some deep, some hilarious, and all of them meaningful. We both have a love for dogs (especially our doodles), a wanderlust-approach to life, and an unspoken understanding that we can always lean on each other when we need to talk or vent. I’m honored to stand by her at her wedding this year, and I’m just as grateful to have her standing by me for mine.
Bridesmaid
Kallie
Kallie and I have one of those classic sister relationships—full of love, a fair share of disagreements, and plenty of head-butting along the way. Being eight years apart, we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but over the years, we’ve found ways to grow closer (even if we still argue now and then). No matter what, she’s my sister, and that bond is unbreakable. She’s also incredibly talented, and I’m honored that she’ll be doing my hair and makeup for my wedding—just as she did for my first one. This time, though, it’s for the right person, and I’m grateful to have her.
Bridesmaid
Amanda
Amanda and I might live an ocean apart now, but that hasn’t stopped us from forming an incredible bond. We’re just a year apart in age, we think alike, and when it comes to family board games, we’re an unstoppable duo—our shared strategy skills pretty much guarantee victory every time. I always heard horror stories about in-laws not getting along, but I got so lucky with Amanda. She’s not just family; she’s a true friend, and I genuinely love having her as my sister-in-law. I only get to see her once or twice a year since she lives in Dublin, but whenever we do reunite, it’s like no time has passed. I’m so happy she’s part of my life, and I can’t wait to celebrate with her!
Bridesmaid
Alexandra
Alexandra was one of my very first friends when I moved to Montreal, and from the start, she made this city feel a little more like home. She also happens to be married to my sister-in-law’s husband’s brother, which technically makes us family in the best way possible. Over the years, she’s become one of my closest friends, and I’m so grateful for the bond we’ve built.
From dog playdates to restaurant outings and chai tea runs, we always have the best time together. I even had the honor of doing her hair for her wedding, making her and her bridesmaids look their best on her big day. One of my favorite memories with her was traveling to Saco, Maine, last June for her bachelorette trip—it was such a relaxing and fun getaway, and I loved getting to share that special time with her. We’ve already made so many great memories.
